Our Foster Dogs
We do not take surrenders from the public.
We are not a rescue.
Listed here are dogs that are available for adoption, or dogs that have been adopted through us. We do not accept surrenders from the public.
These dogs typically come from clients who have done everything they can with these dogs and, for one reason or another, due to no fault of the owners or dogs themselves these dogs are needing to be placed in more suitable home. These dogs have already gone through training with us, with their owners, and we know these dogs very well.
Some dogs require a rehoming fee to help cover cost of care during their time in foster, others have had donations to cover their care costs.
These are not “first come, first serve"“. We are dedicated to find these special dogs their new forever homes. As such these are all LONG TERM fosters- they live with us as one of our dogs until a suitable home is found.

If you feel there is a match, please contact us and we can send over an adoption application for approval.
Please keep in mind that we are very particular and strict on our adoption processes, we are rarely in a rush to place our fosters as they have a forever home with us until an appropriate home is found in which these dogs will THRIVE.
We require all adopters to:
Fill out an application for approval.
If the application is approved, we will then send an email with detailed information about the dog you are interested in. Along with a contract stating the adoption steps for this particular dog, as well as a copy of the adoption contract to review, etc.
Once this contract is signed and returned we will initiate a home visit. This will be a brief home inspection just to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the home. Dont worry, we don’t expect your house to be so clean that you can eat off the floors. We do not have unrealistic expectations, but a basic cleanliness to ensure the health and safety of the dog.
Home Check: We do not have mandatory qualifiers such as a fenced yard, not an apartment building, etc. but we do require renters to have landlords written approval given for adoption or paperwork showing ownership of your home prior to starting the adoption process.
Adoption Process: Our adoption process is lengthy and generally takes 4-6 weeks to complete once the adoption process is officially started. The reason it is this long is because we do a slow transition to ensure that the dog and potential adopters are both comfortable, confident and set up for success: this includes all training tools for continued success, weekly training with dog to work on bond and handling skills BEFORE the dog comes home, and follow-up sessions once the dog goes home to ensure a smooth transition for everyone. WE WANT YOU BOTH TO SUCCEED!
If approved we require all adopters to sign a contract that state expected care of dog, a return policy (we expect to have first chance to take dog back if the dog needs to be rehomed in the future), and basic adoption agreement.
Keep up with daily training.
Alter the adopted dog if not done already- we advocate responsible pet ownership, and altering is not always the best option for every dog (due to age, behavioral issues, medical problems and more) during their care with us but do require the dog to be altered once it is appropriate and safe to do so by your Veterinarian unless specified differently in writing and signed by Some Minor Dog Training.
